Turn left at the totem pole and you're in the midst of Nature!

The Oberglunigerhof farm lies above the centre of the village of Cermes and also some 100 metres of altitude below Lebenberg Castle. The gentle hills of the landscape beneath steeply rising slopes up to Monte San Vigilio are dotted with vast areas of vineyards and orchards, among which the farmyards and castles provide a charming splash of colour.

And so the narrow, asphalt path to the Oberglunigerhof winds upwards for a long time – longer than many navigation systems believe – along the Lebenbergstraße and up the mountain. Continue to follow the "Lebenbergerstraße – via monte leone" road signs, even at cross-roads, until you see our huge totem pole.

How to find us

The best route is from the MeBo, the Bolzano-Merano dual carriage way. Turn off at the Maia Bassa/Untermais exit (Merano) and on the roundabout immediately after the exit keep left and follow the road signs for Marlengo and Lana. After the bridge, on another roundabout, go straight on towards Cermes and Lana – you are now on Via Gampen/Gampenstraße – and then in the village of Cermes turn right onto Via Monteleone/Lebenbergstraße. There you follow the Via Monteleone/Lebenbergstraße as it climbs for about five minutes to the totem pole. An artist from Val Venosta made this for us as an exotic identification post and "welcome" for our guests.
